Bowler Metcalf Ltd was formed in 1972 and listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange in 1987.  We have a ten year compounded growth rate of 26% and a five-year compounded growth rate of 24%.  Approximately 40% of the company is controlled by the directors of the company and we were honored to be included in the Top 100 Companies on the JSE three times in the last five years, while being sector leaders seven times out of the last ten years.  Our market capitalization is approximately R540 million. 

 

Bowler Metcalf Ltd has two divisions of which Bowler Plastics is one.  The other is the Quality Beverages bottling operation that produces niche soft-drink brands Jive, Dixie, Planet and Aqua Blue.

 

Bowler Plastics specialises in producing packaging for the toiletry, cosmetic, household, pharmaceutical and food markets.  We operate four manufacturing plants with a total area of 41000m², two being in Cape Town ,one in Johannesburg and a new facility has opened up in Durban earlier in 2009.

 

 Our Head Office is situated in Ottery, Cape Town.

 

We have high levels of technical expertise for which we are renowned. This includes a mould design department and an extensive tool room, employing over 20 toolmakers.  We utilize CAD/CAM facilities both in our mould design office and in the tool room.
